Letter: Investigation is necessary

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is on record saying: “Everybody thought Hillary Clinton was unbeatable, right? But we put together a Benghazi special committee, a select committee. What are her numbers today? Her numbers are dropping. Why? Because she’s untrustable (sic). But no one would have known any of that had happened, had we not fought to make that happen.” Please note that Pearl Harbor, Kennedy assassination, Watergate and 9/11 investigations each were not as time consuming as Benghazi.

Speaker Pelosi is calling for one investigation of the Jan. 6 “event” at our nation’s Capitol. It seems to me that such an event merits investigation. Those “patriots” were intent on saving America from the scourge of the radical, extremist, socialist, leftist, radical Democrats and their voters. As “True Patriots” (defenders of democracy) they must ensure that only their votes count and not those others.

Now comes Liz Cheney to actually attempt to save the American Experiment. If she is unsuccessful along with us other 81 million voters, what makes you 77 million Trumpsters think that you will be exempt from Cheney’s fate if you take one step out of line? One more Trumpian administration and our elections will be as free of fraud as all of Vladimir Putin’s. You just won’t survive an assault on our Capitol building if you object.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
