Letter: Consider credit scores

In reference to Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler no longer allowing insurance companies to use credit ratings to determine the rate for home and auto policies, this is completely wrong.

I worked for independent insurance agencies for 38 years. I had a customer in Texas who had bad credit, she needed a new roof and could not get a loan due to her bad credit score. She hired someone to torch her home; he got too close to the hot water heater and it blew up, killing him. The homeowner was arrested for arson. So now we get to pay higher prices due to people like this.

I have good credit and worked hard to keep it that way. My homeowner policy skyrocketed since my good credit score can no longer be allowed. I know who I will be voting against come election time.
