Letter: Fix I-5 interchange

By Calvin Jutila, Vancouver

At the present time, getting to northbound Interstate 5 when traveling west on state Highway 500 involves a zigzag series of stops and turns. The long-planned flyover ramp from SR 500 westbound to I-5 northbound was submitted to the Obama administration as a project for the stimulus plan of 2009, aka The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, but failed to be included in the funding.

Since Washington missed out on the Obama administration plan, we hope WSDOT will get the funding this time through the infrastructure plan recently signed by President Joe Biden.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
