Washington State Department of Transportation’s website, cameras, alerts and mobile apps were knocked out by an extensive power outage on Sunday that took down website and travel information.

WSDOT tweeted a list of accounts for people to follow to get updated information about traffic and travel issues across the state.

By mid-morning Monday, some information, including some ferry schedules, were back online, while others, such as traffic cameras, remained down. Travel alerts can for Southwest Washington are available at www.wsdot.com/traffic/trafficalerts/SouthWest.aspx. No major issues were reported Monday morning, though work on Interstate 5 near the Lewis River continues.

An alert about the outage was posted on Twitter late Sunday night. WSDOT on Monday said it had been working all night to restore the tools.

For several hours, Twitter appeared to be the only way the state’s transportation system was getting out information.

Technicians are working on the outage, WSDOT tweeted, but said there is no estimated time for when it may be fixed.

In the meantime, the transportation system has posted a list of all the Twitter accounts the agency uses as well as a list other accounts with traffic information.
