The column about Vancouver Lake by Ann Donnelly was an accurate summary of the history of how the lake got into its current predicament (“Vancouver Lake merits public-private partnership,” The Columbian, Oct. 3). Friends of Vancouver Lake has made significant progress in addressing current issues, such as the recent eradication of the Eurasian milfoil infestation, and has now turned its attention toward a more permanent restoration of the lake. Toward that goal, an independent engineering study of the lake’s hydrology has been commissioned to guide the next steps.
