Non-league football: Heritage 27, Battle Ground 10

In a game where it would be an air raid offense vs a ground n’ pound run game, Heritage’s resilience and tenacious defense would prevail

The first half of the game would be a back-and-forth game with both teams putting up a score before half. But Heritage came out of the half strong with an aggressive pass game and stellar defense.

When asked about the adjustments made at halftime, senior defensive end Jack Warren said, ‘We really did well in reading their offensive and came out and really adjusted our blocking and that was huge in getting our QB time and pressuring theirs.”

Warren would end with four tackles for a loss and two sacks. Offensively for the Timberwolves, senior WR Aiden Miller had 115 of the team’s 180 receiving yards and two scores, one in the air and one on the ground.

Miller would also make an impact on defense with an interception . When asked about the defensive effort, Miller said “When the defense makes plays like that, it really blows the team up and gets us going. We’ve struggled at stopping the pass game before, but I think we really did well against it tonight.”

Junior LaDaimien Mccord would also have a pick six defensively and a score through the air in the 3rd.

For Battle Ground, senior RB Leithan Reynolds-Weisenborn would be the workhouse with 88 rushing yards and The Tigers’ lone touchdown.
