Letter: Learn truth about Hogan’s stance

A recent letter stated that Steve Hogan voted for the $78 million pool/sports complex for Camas that went down in dramatic defeat. Wanting to know more, I actually contacted Steve months ago and asked for his position on this and other issues. His support was not for the pool, but for the citizens’ right to vote on it. Camas had been purchasing land without voter approval for several years and he wanted to make sure that we had a say on this one. I asked him point blank if he personally voted for it and he said he had not.

Apparently, the other commissioners were in favor of just going ahead, and he pushed to have the public vote. That is how it should have been. We should all look deeper into those supporting each candidate.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
