Letter: Be safe this fall

With the upcoming fall festivities approaching soon in these months, what have been the precautions taken to ensure the safety between children partaking in Halloween events and COVID-19? Since last year, the precautionary measures for safety during Halloween have landed in between the scale of adequate and inadequate. Will there be any official announcement or headline stating tips for safety this year for families and children participating in public events this fall?

COVID-19 cases in Clark County have been steadily average during the past dates, though there is still uncertainty for the increase of cases after holidays. By following standard procedures for health safety and taking the number of cases into consideration, would it be more preferred to take a different route for safety this Halloween?

Halloween is not the only holiday coming up, as major public sales and events including Black Friday, or shopping sprees for the winter holidays, will most likely be starting soon. The health safety of adults, children, and the elderly might be entailed to risk of contracting disease. The concern over major public events or holidays continuing to take place along with certain COVID-19 outbreaks might need to be addressed more, as it is an issue that still prevails in Clark County as well as in other locations nationwide.
