An apparent road rage incident involving gunfire drew a swarm of Clark County sheriff’s deputies to a Hazel Dell neighborhood on Friday afternoon.

At about 3 p.m., 911 received several reports of gunfire, followed by calls about a car crash in the 9700 block of Northeast 19th Avenue, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s deputies and detectives responded, interviewed witnesses and were still investigating as of Friday night. They had yet to find anyone injured, and had not made any arrests.

The shooting appears to have started as conflict between two drivers, according to the sheriff’s office. After shots were fired, one car crashed into the car of someone not involved in the argument.

Detectives do not believe there is a current threat to the public.

No innocent bystanders were hit by bullets, although bullet holes were found in nearby residences, according to the sheriff’s office.
