Letter: Protect souls in Woodland

With the passage of the formal declaration opposing Washington’s COVID-19 vaccine mandates, it appears that the Woodland City Council has decided to intentionally lead the good citizens of Woodland astray. Further, it was observed that dozens of citizens attending the meeting were maskless. It has been observed that masklessness and anti-vaccination initiatives are typically connected.

The councilors are violating God’s law as stated in Leviticus 13: 45-46 which says, “Anyone with such a defiling disease must wear torn clothes, let their hair be unkempt, cover the lower part of their face and cry out, ‘Unclean! Unclean!’ As long as they have the disease they remain unclean. They must live alone; they must live outside the camp.”

The torn clothes, unkempt hair and crying out, “Unclean! Unclean!” might be a bit melodramatic, but covering the lower part of the face is absolutely essential. (This means wearing a mask to cover more than the chin.) With regard to face masks, someone said, “Wearing a face mask is not a political statement, it’s an IQ test.”

I encourage the councilors to return to the path of righteousness and reverse this formal declaration. Souls are at stake. Amen.
