Community veteran organizations are hosting a memorial Monday for the anniversary of the death of a Clark County soldier killed overseas as a part of the “Never To Be Forgotten” series.

The Community Military Appreciation Committee and Patriot Guard Riders will gather with the public at the Fort Vancouver Barracks War Memorial, 987 McClellan Road. The family and guests will arrive at 12:30 p.m. for the ceremony to start at 1 p.m.

Monday’s event will honor U.S. Army Master Sgt. Robb Needham, who was killed in Baghdad, Iraq, on Sept. 20, 2006.

Another ceremony is scheduled for the same time Tuesday in honor of U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer Jonah D. McClellan, who was killed in Afghanistan on Sept. 21, 2010. His memorial will be at Kiwanis Park in Battle Ground.

The “Never To Be Forgotten” series honors 15 Clark County soldiers killed overseas since Sept. 11, 2001. It began in 2018 and hosts the memorials every three years.

The series kicked off last month.
