Fire crews battled a rapidly moving brush fire Wednesday morning on the hillside above Northwest Lakeshore Avenue that threatened at least two houses, according to Clark County Fire District 6.

Three fire engines and one crew responded around 10:30 a.m. They donned wildland firefighting gear to access the hillside, according to the fire department.

Crews were able to contain the fire before it damaged any houses, according to Fire District 6. No one was injured.

Firefighters continued to mop up hotspots Wednesday morning.

The Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office will determine the cause.

Fire District 6 said the fire serves as a reminder of the dry conditions in the area.
