The Emmys were awarded on Sunday evening, which means that if you haven’t yet caught up with the winners, now is the time to do so, especially since the streaming services came out on top, taking home the most hardware. Or perhaps it’s apt to give some of your favorites a rewatch. Either way, you can’t go wrong checking out any of Sunday’s big winners for the first or a third time.

HBO Max did well with some of its newest offerings, including Michaela Coel’s searing and stunning “I May Destroy You,” for which the actress/writer won the award for Outstanding Writing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. Coel’s unflinching exploration of the psychic ramifications of sexual assault is one of the most original, unsettling and unique pieces of work to hit any streamer in a long time.

HBO Max also won big with its charming comedy series “Hacks,” about an aging Las Vegas stand-up comic and her young upstart writer. Jean Smart won the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series statue, while series creators Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs and Jen Statsky scooped up the comedy series writing and directing awards.

On the drama side, the watercooler sensation “Mare of Easttown” dominated the acting awards, with star Kate Winslet winning Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, while co-stars Evan Peters and Julianne Nicholson took home the supporting actor and actress prizes.

Apple TV+ feel-good sensation “Ted Lasso” has American TV fans crazy for football (European style), and that was also reflected in Sunday’s Emmys. Aside from taking home the Outstanding Comedy Series top prize, star and creator Jason Sudeikis also won Outstanding Lead Actor, while Brett Goldstein and Hannah Waddingham won the Supporting Actor and Actress statues. Season 2 of Ted Lasso is streaming now. Football is life!

Powerhouse streamer Netflix raked in the laurels thanks to stalwart series “The Crown,” which follows the British royal family throughout the 20th century. Olivia Colman, Tobias Menzies, Gillian Anderson and Josh O’Connor all took home the main drama series acting prizes, and “The Crown” earned awards for writing, directing and Best Drama Series.

It was also not surprising that “The Queen’s Gambit” won Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series and creator Scott Frank won the top directing prize in that category.

In a bit of a surprise, Ewan McGregor won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for the Ryan Murphy series “Halston,” about the rise and fall of the legendary American fashion designer, so be sure to check out his bold performance.
