Letter: Vaccine opponents nonsensical

By Douglas J. Munson , Vancouver
Published: September 30, 2021, 6:00am

People protesting the push to get COVID vaccinations is puzzling to me. Do they truly believe their civil rights are being violated by getting a vaccine? Didn’t these same people get the MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) and tetanus vaccines when they were school-age children? Do these same people realize polio was eradicated in the Americas because of vaccines and smallpox was eliminated worldwide because of vaccines? To you anti-vaxxers, when you’re in a hospital hooked up to a ventilator and catheter, call me and let me know how your civil rights are working for you then. I’ll wait by the phone.
