Letter: School board should listen to voters

By James Sheppard, Ridgefield
Published: April 3, 2022, 6:00am

Ridgefield voters rejected the last school bond. Now, here we are two months later, with essentially the same school bond being presented once again. Is our school board tone deaf?

“Inflation is costing the average U.S. household an additional $296 per month,” a Moody’s Analytics study found. Consumer prices in February were 7.9 percent higher than a year ago. Homeowners are being financially stressed by tax increases and inflation. Not only are rents soaring, any property tax increases will quickly be passed on to renters. It’s time to find a new paradigm to funding Ridgefield’s growth than issuing Special Elections every two months.
