Clark County Genealogical Society seeks photos of grandmothers

The Clark County Genealogical Society seeks submissions for its “Gallery of Grandmothers” exhibit celebrating the organization’s 50th anniversary. Submit a photo of current or past grandmothers from anywhere or any era by Aug. 15. Each photo should include a 300-word biography with the grandmother’s name, dates of birth and death, birthplace, where and how she lived, a favorite memory and personal characteristics. Digital images and descriptions can be delivered to the Clark County Genealogical Society Library, 3205 N.E. 52nd St., Vancouver, or emailed to marcia@ccgswa.org. The library is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.

The Gallery of Grandmothers will be on display at the society’s 50th anniversary celebration, a 1970s costume party, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 27 at the library. Attendees are invited to wear 1970s attire and enjoy grilled hot dogs, explore the library, participate in genealogy-themed activities and chat with genealogy experts.
