Letter: Review Herrera Beutler’s votes

The recent Washington, D.C., Roll Call on July 17 showed the votes by Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Battle Ground. Her nay votes far outweigh any yea votes:

Voted nay for the Active Shooter Alerts Bill. Didn’t believe a law that gave local and state governments immediate information regarding active shooters would only be of help to law enforcement agencies across the nation regardless of size or location.

Voted nay for the Military Commissions Bill that would give access to the public regarding military commissions — including those responsible for the 9/11 attacks.

Voted nay for Military Labor Standards — which would prevent contractors from harassing workers. Same with the Military Contracting Bill (nay). Military Harm to Civilians Bill (nay), Military Harassment Claims (nay), Domestic Terrorism Bill (nay). There are other nays with recent bills. Is this the person we want representing us (veterans, civilians, etc.)?
