You Can Help: Volunteer Opportunities

Friends of the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge seeks volunteers to help maintain the appearance and accessibility of trails. Work parties are 9 a.m. to noon every Wednesday and Thursday on the River S and Carty units. Volunteers in will learn to use basic gardening tools and plant snips, some plant ID, and traverse over gravel trails with low inclines. LoveNOW, a ministry of Crossroads Community Church, seeks volunteers to help pack meals for food banks and local charities 9 to 11 a.m. Aug. 13 at Crossroads Community Church, 7708 N.E. 78th St.

LoveNOW is partnering with Generosity Feeds to pack and distribute 10,000 meals to kids and families in Clark County. Meals will be distributed to the Clark County Food Bank, FISH Food Bank, St. Vincent De Paul Clothing and Food Bank and the Vancouver School District.
