Ron Morrison’s letter, “Abortion is not murder” (Our Readers’ Views, Aug. 10), follows the abortion industry playbook faithfully: play the church card (“do not impose your private religious beliefs on others”).
This playbook was originally written by one of the founders in 1969 of the National Association for the Repeal of Abortion Laws, NARAL, Dr. Bernard Nathanson, who himself performed/presided over thousands of abortions before he saw abortion on ultrasound and decided the preborn child’s reaction to the suction tip being powered up resembled what any human being would do in a similar situation … vigorously try to get away. The teeny, tiny preborn human being was no match for the suction machine.
Dr. Nathanson, an atheist at the time, had the honesty to make a film of this called “The Silent Scream” (1984) and to write a book called “Aborting America” (1979) in which he details the tactics used to overcome the traditional objection to abortion as the killing of an innocent human being.
I suggest Mr. Morrison “follow the science” of prenatal development documented with direct videography and 4D ultrasound of the developing embryo and fetus provided online by the Endowment for Human Development. Caution: remember what happened to Dr. Nathanson.
