Sens. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell were recently in town to promote STEM education and careers and The Columbian wrote an editorial (“Economy, security depend on STEM students,” Aug. 21). I agree wholeheartedly! That’s why I chair the Board of Directors for Columbia Play Project, an nonprofit focused on building a children’s museum in Clark County.

Columbia Play Project is committed to STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art and Math) education and uses exploratory play to help children build the neuropathways necessary for future academic success. Learn more at www.columbiaplayproject.org and join us to ensure children have every possible opportunity for economic success.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
