Prep basketball: Dunseth, Fassilis help lead Union past Lewis & Clark

Tucker Dunseth scored a career-high 26 points as the Union boys basketball team beat Lewis & Clark 70-51 at Spokane on Saturday.

Dunseth made six 3-pointers. He scored 16 points in the first half with four 3s.

Yanni Fassilis scored 16 points and tied a tournament record with 11 assists. Josiah Baldassare added 12 points and Kody Holcomb 11 for the Titans (2-1).

Both teams made eight 3-pointers and attempted four free throws.

Boys basketball

ARLINGTON 86, CAMAS 80 — Arlington pulled away with a 38-19 second quarter, but Camas recovered some in the second half at the John McCrossin Memorial Classic in Fife.

Beckett Currie scored a game-high 34 points for the Papermakers. He had eight 3-pointers.

Jace VanVoorhis had 23 points and was 8 for 8 from the free-throw line. As a team, Camas was 23 for 25 from the line.

MOUNTAIN VIEW 68, SPANAWAY LAKE 61 — The Thunder stormed back in the second half by outscoring Spanaway Lake 41-25 for the non-league victory.

Isaiah Vargas poured in 31 points, 19 of those in the second half, as the Thunder recovered from a 36-27 halftime deficit. Jacob Martin added 13 points for the Thunder.

SETON CATHOLIC 69, MORTON-WHITE PASS 61 — Seton Catholic’s Brady Angelo scored 30 points as the Cougars held off Morton-White Pass.

The Timberwolves led by one after the first quarter and 36-33 at halftime before Seton was able to get out in front in the third quarter.

Jack Jenniges scored his 15 points in the first half, and Rico George had 13 of his 15 in the second half for Seton.

MWP was led in scoring by Hunter Hazen’s 26 points.

Girls basketball

CAMAS 73, ARCHBISHOP MURPHY 35 — The Papermakers pulled away with a 24-10 second quarter and then held Archbishop Murphy to just 10 points in the second half.

Brianna Forbess had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds for Camas.

Riley Sanz led Camas in scoring with 15 points to go with six rebounds. Reagan Jamison had 10 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and four steals, and Addison Harris had 10 rebounds, nine points and four assists.
