Letter: Trump is unpatriotic

What is a patriot? One who loves and protects their country. One who defends the laws and Constitution of the country as all governing officials are sworn to do. One who is willing to work within the system, as set forth in the Constitution to facilitate change.

Mr. Trump clearly defined himself as neither a patriot nor one willing to defend the laws of the country, in spite of a sworn oath to do so. How? Last week he said on Truth Social, “A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution.” This would remove protected gun rights, voting rights, speech rights and everything else guaranteed by the Constitution.

This should present a dilemma for those Trump supporters who declare themselves patriots. Are they going to support the Constitution and laws as true patriots do, or are they going support Trump? How will you define being a patriot?

Remember as it says in the Bible: No one can serve two masters, Matthew 6:24.
