VAN MALL — Vancouver Sunrise Rotary Club donated $5,000 to Support Early Learning and Families, which is administering the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program in Southwest Washington. Rotary is working to boost literacy in local communities.

The Imagination Library, which is part of the entertainer’s charitable foundation, is designed to promote interaction and establish a positive attitude toward reading for children up to 5 years old by providing a free, high-quality book each month. The books are selected by a committee of early childhood experts to be age-appropriate and align with the child’s developmental needs. In Southwest Washington, more than 5,000 children are enrolled and the program continues to grow.
