Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert feud over speaker of the House support

Right-wing lawmakers Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert are taking potshots at one another in what’s shaping-up to be a Republican party civil war.

Speaking at a Turning Point USA event Monday, Boebert took issue with her congressional colleague’s decision to support Kevin McCarthy as speaker of the House when the Republicans take control of the lower-house in January.

“I don’t believe in this,” she said. “Just like I don’t believe in… Jewish space lasers.”

Boebert was referencing a conspiracy theory pushed by Greene on social media contending the 2018 California wildfires might have been caused by lasers owned by a prominent Jewish banking family. Greene says she no longer believes that’s the case.

She fired back at Boebert — a high school dropout also known for spreading disinformation — with a string of tweets, noting the Colorado congresswoman narrowly retained her House seat in last month’s election, despite representing a solidly Republican district.

“I’ve supported and donated to Lauren Boebert,” she said. “President Trump has supported and donated to Lauren Boebert.”

Both women falsely believe Donald Trump won the 2020 presidential election.

“Kevin McCarthy has supported and donated to Lauren Boebert,” Greene added. “She just barely came through by 500 votes.”

Greene called Boebert’s attack “high school drama” and said her colleague “childishly threw me under the bus for a cheap sound bite.”

Boebert posted video of her speech at the Turning Points USA rally and wrote “I’ve grown, I’ve been refined, and I’m ready to lead with strength and grace.”
