Prep Roundup: King’s Way boys down La Center

Giovanny Evanson scored 21 points as the Knights ended the regular season with a 67-47 win over La Center to clinch the 1A Trico League title outright.

Alex Fulton added 16 points for King’s Way (12-4, 7-1). The Knight wrapped up a share of the Trico title with a win over second-place Seton Catholic on Tuesday.

Austin Nixon scored 29 points to lead La Center (7-13, 3-5).

Boys basketball

SETON CATHOLIC 64, COLUMBIA-WHITE SALMON 52 — Brady Angelo scored 14 points, Jacob George added 13 points and the Cougars concluded the regular season as the No. 2 seed to the district tournament from the Trico League.

Girls basketball

RIDGEFIELD 52, COLUMBIA RIVER 49 — Elizabeth Swift scored 16 points as the Spudders prevailed in a right 2A GSHL contest.

Kelli Krsul added 13 points and eight rebounds. Avery Wilson had seven points and nine rebounds for Ridgefield (6-12, 5-10).

Emma Iniguez scored 14 points and Peyton Dukes added 13 points for Columbia River (5-13, 4-11).

WASHOGUAL 59, MARK MORRIS 39 — Jaiden Bea had 18 points and 10 rebounds as the fast-starting Panthers earned a 2A GSHL win at home.

Carissa De La Rocha scored six of her 10 points in the first quarter as Washougal leapt to a 18-4 lead. She finished with nine rebounds and four blocks.

SETON CATHOLIC 65, COLUMBIA-WHITE SALMON 37 — Maddie Willis scored 27 points and the Cougars closed their regular season with a 1A Trico League win that keeps their postseason hopes alive.

Cami Price added 11 points and 14 rebounds. Kierra Williams scored 10 of her 13 points in the first quarter as Seton built a 20-10 lead.

Seton (9-10, 2-6) is waiting to Friday’s Castle Rock vs. Columbia-White Salmon game to learn its postseason fate. A Castle Rock win gives Seton the league’s No. 4 seed to the district tournament. A Columbia win would force a three-way playoff for two berths early next week.

KELSO 76, EVERGREEN 22 — Natalie Fraley scored 41 points to break her own Kelso single-game scoring record.

R.A. LONG 68, FORT VANCOUVER 26 — Miranda Lomax scored 23 points, Jayla Clark added 17 points and the Lumberjills earned a 2A GSHL road win.

Trian Clark scored 12 points to lead the Trappers.
