“Crews went into rescue mode and entered the house as quickly as possible to search (for) anyone inside,” according to the department.

Engine 9 crews found one woman in the home. She was treated by paramedics at the scene and then taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.

No one else was found inside the house.

According to the statement, the fire was completely extinguished in about 14 minutes, though firefighters remained on scene for more than five hours. Vancouver fire had 25 personnel on scene.

The Vancouver Fire Department would like to remind residents to have functioning smoke detectors and an exit plan in case of a fire, according to the statement.
