Held to single digits in the second and third quarters was too much for the Knights to make up in falling to host Montesano 53-39 in the 1A girls basketball district semifinal.

Laurel Quinn scored 23 points, also going 8-for-8 from the free-throw line, and pulled down eight rebounds for King’s Way (13-5). Hannah Erwin added nine points, all on 3-pointers.

Montesano (18-1), which clinches a regional berth, advances to Saturday’s title game against Tenino. King’s Way faces Seton Catholic in a loser-out game on Thursday at Fort Vancouver High School.
