Letter: Deny and deflect

By Stan Livingston, Vancouver

When you are accused of any misdeeds, despite overwhelming proof or strong evidence, follow this procedure:

1. Deny everything.

2. Denigrate and disparage your accuser.

3. Label the accusations as a “witch hunt,” scam, or politically motivated attack.

4. Toss out as many red herring statements as you can muster to obfuscate and deflect.

It should work for you at least as well as it has worked for Trump.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
