RIDGEFIELD — Ridgefield School District leaders recognized December 2021 employee and students of the month at the Dec. 14 school board meeting.

December’s employee of the month is Justin Nelson, a teacher at View Ridge Middle School.

According to the nomination, Nelson “picked up new curriculum mid-year without ever protesting or hesitating. His students would never know that he was asked to change subjects to help other teachers that needed to stay remote… He’s a teacher that students want to talk to, and they know he listens to them.“

The December students of the month are: Early Learning Center pre-K student Maximus Wilfong; South Ridge Elementary School fourth-grader Ava Kraayeveld; Union Ridge Elementary School third-grader Aayden Groth; Sunset Ridge Intermediate School fifth-grader Elizabeth Klaus; View Ridge Middle School eighth-grader Jorge Espinoza Moino; Ridgefield High School senior Acasia Hannah Barbaza and Wisdom Ridge Academy second-grader James Springer.
