Letter: Government actually can help

When Louisiana U.S. District Judge Terry Doughty blocked President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate for workers in federally funded day care centers, he quoted Ronald Reagan: “The nine most terrible words in the English language are ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help.’ ”

They’re terrible words unless you’re from Louisiana and your state has been hit by a devastating hurricane named Katrina or you live in Kentucky and your state has suffered a series of deadly tornadoes or you live in Texas and your state needs help combating a massive increase in COVID-19 infections.
