Prep roundup: Stephens’ big fourth quarter leads La Center girls over Seton Catholic

Kylee Stephens scored all 15 of her points in the fourth quarter to help the La Center pull away from Seton Catholic 44-27 in a Trico League girls basketball game on Thursday.

The Wildcats and Cougars were caught up in a defensive battle after three quarters, tied 21-21.

But Stephens, along with eight points from Gianna D’Emilio, led the Wildcats to a 23-6 edge in the final period.

D’Emilio finished with 16 points, while Annabelle Atwood added 12 for the Wildcats.

Hannah Jo Hammerstrom had nine points to pace Seton Catholic.

Girls basketball

MOUNTAIN VIEW 42, FORT VANCOUVER 10 — Nina Peterson scored 12 points on four 3-pointers for the Thunder in their non-league win at Fort.

Evelyn Cruz led Fort in scoring with six points.

UNION 56, RIDGEFIELD 46 — Olivia Euverman led a balanced attack by Union with 12 points as the Titans pulled away late for a non-league win.

Union led 27-20 at halftime, but the Spudders closed with 40-38 after three quarters.

Euverman had all 12 of her points in the second half. Mackenzie Spike added nine points, and Grace Burchett had eight for the Titans.

Kelli Krusl led Ridgefield with 22 points.

Girls bowling

  • Katie Lender-Aberle of R.A. Long posted a 203-201 series in a dual win over Fort Vancouver, 2140-1995, at Triangle Bowl in Longview. R.A. Long also had a 235 baker game.
