Letter: Accountability needed for Jan. 6

No reasonable person who witnessed the events of Jan. 6, 2021, would disagree that it was an insurrection against the U.S. government. According to Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, no U.S. senator or U.S. representative who either participates in an insurrection or provides aid or comfort to a participant of an insurrection against the U.S. government is allowed to hold office. The top candidate for removal from office is Marjorie Taylor Green (aka the “Jewish Space Laser” conspiracy nutcase). There are many other Republican senators and representatives who could similarly be removed from office.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
