Letter: Examine facts of Jan. 6 attack

I appreciated the article “Attempts to rewrite history,” by AP journalist David Klepper on the front page Jan. 2. It’s important to educate the disinterested Americans who refuse to take the time to understand or appreciate the dangerous lies around the Capitol riot last year. With over a million dollars in damage and so many people at the highest level involved in its planning, I am very interested in seeing more of this information published.

Although the article did not say that people are stupid for not being willing to not ignore facts, I do believe the foundation of democracy is severely threatened by people that don’t read or care to read the actual facts of what happened. The more articles which are published, hopefully the more Republicans like myself will be aware and not stand behind the would-be authoritarian dictator Trump, who thinks he is above the law.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
