Letter: Keep moving on three-lane roads

Now that school has started back up after the holidays, I’m writing this letter to my fellow commuters who take Ellsworth to get to state Highway 14 in the morning. Just before the highway interchange, Ellsworth is a three-lane street, with a turn lane in the center. If you encounter a school bus on a three-lane road and you’re going in the opposite direction of the school bus, you do not need to stop.

More often than not during my morning commute, I am stopped on Ellsworth behind someone who thinks they need to stop for the school bus. If the bus is coming up the hill and you are going down the hill, you don’t need to stop. It’s not required on a road that’s three or more lanes wide.
