Kylee Stephens scored 29 points as La Center girls basketball hit the road Tuesday for a 62-34 win over Columbia in White Salmon.
Gianna D’Emilio added 24 points and hit four of La Center’s six 3-pointers. She scored 11 points in the first quarter, which ended with La Center up 18-9.
The Wildcats extended the lead to 31-14 at halftime. Stephens scored eight of La Center’s 13 points in the second quarter, with six of her points coming at the free throw line.
The win keeps La Center (7-5, 2-0) undefeated in the 1A Trico League.
Maggie Bryan scored 16 points to lead the Bruins (1-5, 0-1), which had their previous three games postponed by weather or COVID.
Girls basketball
SETON CATHOLIC 45, CASTLE ROCK 24 — Hannah Jo Hammerstrom scored 16 points, Cami Price grabbed 21 rebounds and the Cougars earned a Trico League win at home.
Hammerstrom scored 10 points in the first half, which ended with Seton ahead 25-12.
Lori Ogden scored eight points to lead Castle Rock, which was without its top player Brooke Wirkkala.
Boys basketball
MARK MORRIS 80, WASHOUGAL 78 — Kobe Parlin scored 31 points to lead the Monarchs as visiting Washougal nearly erased a 12-point deficit in the fourth quarter.
