Letter: City is going downhill

By Paul Presler, Vancouver

I pay my fair share so why isn’t everyone else? I pay for a valid driver’s license and car insurance, that’s the law. I pay to keep my car in safe running condition for me and others on the road. I pay for garbage pickup to keep my area clean and healthy and safe.

So why are the city of Vancouver and Clark County turning a blind eye on the laws and not enforcing them? Why when it comes to the homeless, they can drive around in unsafe vehicles with expired tabs or no plates at all, with no valid driver’s license or valid car insurance? That is the law.

They can take public transit instead.

Why are they allowed to camp wherever they want? And dump their trash everywhere, too, and not pick it up? Again, that is the law.

Our city is going downhill. They need to make these people be responsible and clean up their act.

They are not babies, and as long as you treat them as one they will never change.

I give these tiny houses four months before they trash them too.
