Columbia Bank recently announced the promotion of Heather Seppa to the role of retail market manager for the Columbia/Willamette market in Oregon. She also joined the Retail Leadership Group, which drives the strategy and execution of retail initiatives for the bank.

Seppa is a 17-year veteran of Columbia Bank with more than three decades of leadership experience in the financial services industry. She formerly was a regional manager for the bank’s Oregon Coast/Southwest Washington region.

Absci Corp. recently welcomed Joseph Sirosh to its board of directors. Sirosh brings a wealth of experience in technical and operational leadership roles in AI and machine learning. Sirosh is chief technology officer of Compass Inc. and manages the entire engineering organization. Prior to Compass, he spent five years at Microsoft as a corporate vice president of engineering — in several roles such as chief technology officer of AI, leader of the cloud AI platform and leader of the data group. Before Microsoft, Sirosh was the vice president of the Global Inventory Platform at Amazon in the consumer business; there he led large-scale machine learning and conceived of and built the development team for the Amazon Machine Learning service. Sirosh holds a Ph.D. from University of Texas at Austin in computer science with a specialization in neural networks.

Davidson & Associates Insurance has announced that Melissa Ralston and Paula Rogers have been promoted to vice presidents of their individually managed departments. Ralston is vice president of the personal lines department; Rogers is vice president of the business lines department.

Both newly promoted vice presidents are natives of the Pacific Northwest and have over 20 years of experience as licensed insurance agents.

Ralston has her Certified Insurance Counselor designation and has been a repeat recipient of Safeco Insurance Co.’s Award of Excellence for superior underwriting. She is involved in her community as a Bible study leader and a board member of the Oregon Trails Walk to Emmaus.

Rogers has her Certified Insurance Service Representative designation as a reflection of her extensive knowledge and exceptional client care skills.

The Southwest Washington Contractors Association Board of Directors has completed its appointments for 2022, which includes Cyndi Holloway as president. The SWCA said it is excited for Holloway to continue the momentum developed under previous leadership. Holloway has been an active supporter of SWCA through the years, providing her enthusiastic support on its events and auction committees and on the board of directors.
