Letter: Court confirms archaic ideas

Before birth control and a woman’s ability to control her life, a woman’s life was bound to nature in ways that weren’t true for the male. When a female came of age, it would limit her free will over nature and any idea of personal freedom. Marriage was about the man surrendering his free will and freedom to share that bond with his wife. Unlike the female, the male could just walk away. The Age of Enlightenment and ideas of freedom were born out of the wasteland that was medieval Europe. A land of inauthentic people who the church forced to believe and say things that they didn’t believe. America was about serving reason, not a pope and not a king.

With six of the nine justices being Catholic, it would appear that the Supreme Court is now obligated to the pope. The Texas law will allow for self-appointed inquisitors to start terrorizing the female population, and like in medieval times, people will be forced to exist in the shadows. For evangelicals and fundamentalists, the Supreme Court affirmed that a woman should be barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen. Her only existence is to serve her man.
