Crews work to preserve timbers at former Red Lion Hotel at Port of Vancouver’s Terminal 1

The lift spans of the Interstate 5 Bridge loom over the skeletal remains of what was once the Red Lion Hotel at the Quay at the Port of Vancouver’s Terminal 1 site. Crews have been carefully disassembling the structure, which began its life as the port’s original warehouse in the 1920s, in the hopes of preserving its old-growth timbers for future use.
