Letter: Re-elect Barnes for utilities

By Carol J. Curtis, Vancouver

I served as a Clark Public Utilities commissioner for 30 years (1982-2012) and worked alongside Nancy Barnes when she was first elected in 1992. She is an advocate for our customers, and leads the utility in maintaining the policies that win national awards (J.D. Powers), including excellence in promoting energy efficiency, conservation and environmental restoration.

Be aware of the candidates who promise that which they cannot deliver, or fail to mention the cost associated with what they promise! Keep the utility lean and responsive, and committed to low, reliable electric and water rates for Clark County. Vote to re-elect Nancy Barnes, Clark Public Utilities commissioner.
