Drivers using Northeast Munch Road between Northeast 414th Street and Northeast Cedar Creek Road will need to look for alternate routes beginning July 18 when crews begin work on a road safety project.

Drivers should take an alternate route during the closure and adhere to posted detour signs while in the project area. During construction, local access will be maintained for residences and emergency vehicles.

The closure is expected to remain in place for approximately six weeks. However, start and end dates for the closures are dependent upon weather. Portable changeable message signs will be placed five days prior to the start of the closure.

This safety and roadway preservation project will include guardrail installation, sight distance improvements and roadway preservation. Guardrails will be installed in areas where there is a steep shoulder on the roadway. Sight distance improvements will include removal of a rock face and the lowering of the vertical hump in the road near Northeast 414th Street. Asphalt will be overlayed to enhance safety, maneuverability and longevity of the road.
