Letter: Kent is not right for Washington

Joe Kent: RINO, WINO. Why do Oregon Democrats (RINO) feel the need to move to Washington to run for Congress (Washingtonian In Name Only)? Are we so provincial we can’t find anyone to represent us?

Oooh, Kent says he’s a Republican. Do we really want to join Marjorie Taylor Greene providing comedy material for “Saturday Night Live”? “SNL” could portray the forum that initiated Kent’s run that began with “blowing the shofar” at Church of the Rock. As a Christian, I cringed.

Then “SNL” might return to Steve Martin’s comedy routine, “Your RINO, can you trust him?” Send the blue RINO back to Portlandia. Blow the shofar!

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
