There are two outstanding candidates running for Clark County Council this year: Glen Yung in the District 1 and Kim Hamlik in District 2. Both do their homework, both have temperaments that can bring compromise to differing policy positions, and both are true nonpartisans as recent charter amendments required.
Both understand state law and county code and will find a way to hire more deputies and make us feel safer in a time of growing violence. And both understand the statutory role of the county in trying to help solve the homeless problem. Both have long experience with neighborhoods.
