Letter: Supreme Court lacks common sense

Perhaps our esteemed Supreme Court justices should take a moment to shed their robes and re-read the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus, in referring to the religious and political leaders of his day, had this to say: “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen.”

Instead of hiding behind tightly reasoned legal interpretations of the priority of one article of the Constitution over another, one freedom over another — how about stating the obvious, and exercising a little common sense in their decisions?
