Pendleton Woolen Mills, which operates two of the remaining four woolen mills in the United States, has resumed tours at its Washougal and Pendleton, Ore., locations.
The tour of the Washougal mill at 2 Pendleton Way, acquired by Pendleton in 1912, walks guests through every step in the making of wool blankets and fabric, from raw wool, dyeing, wool carding and spinning to loom weaving, washing, inspection and boxing. Tours are offered at the Washougal mill at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Tours are offered at the Oregon mill, 1307 S.E. Court Place, Pendleton, at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. every weekday.
