Extreme heat is projected to linger through the end of the week, and the city of Vancouver is halting some of its community events accordingly.

The Waterfront Park Concert Series performance from local artists today is canceled. Curtis Salgado, a Portland-based blues musician, was set to headline the concert with an appearance from Bobby Torres, a Latin jazz artist. It has not been rescheduled.

There will still be a showing of “Jungle Cruise” around 9:15 p.m. at Columbia Tech Center Park, Southeast Sequoia Circle at Southeast Tech Center Drive, as part of the city’s Friday Night Movie series. The pre-show musical entertainment that was scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. has been canceled.
