Share kicks off its annual Appeal for Meals campaign this week, starting with a food drive from noon to 6 p.m. today at the Share Fromhold Service Center, 2306 N.E. Andresen Road.

Share needs canned or easy-open chicken and tuna, canned soup, peanut better, canned fruit, fruit cups, chili, apple sauce, smoothies, yogurt, pasta, rice, mac and cheese, Cup O’ Noodles, snack bars, crackers and reusable grocery bags.

To donate, bring your items to the Share Fromhold Service Center, and staff and volunteers will do the rest.

All donated food will be used for Share’s various meal and nutrition programs.

“Share’s meal and nutrition programs provide food and meals to thousands of people each year,” Diane McWithey, Share’s executive director, said in a news release. “They include individuals and families who are working, but who are still not able to make enough money to make ends meet, as well as those experiencing homelessness.”
