Letter: Herrera Beutler gets things done

Voters have a choice: to make a statement or make a difference. Joe Kent promises changes impossible for a freshman congressman. He’ll challenge the Republican leadership. He’ll make a statement.

Getting elected is nothing if you cannot govern. Collaboration is required to govern. Extremists obstruct. That is why Republicans have achieved little the last three times in power.

Contrast Kent to Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Battle Ground. She has seniority, with 12 years in Congress. She gets things accomplished. She serves on the budget committee and will be chosen for major leadership. Jaime quietly accomplishes while others talk.

The voters have a clear choice.
