18th Legislative District candidate John Ley’s voter registration hearing rescheduled

A hearing on the voter registration challenge filed against 18th Legislative District candidate John Ley has been rescheduled for 10 a.m. June 28. The hearing was originally scheduled for June 10.

Vancouver resident Carolyn Crain filed a voter registration challenge in late May, claiming Ley, a Republican, isn’t eligible for the legislative seat because he doesn’t live in the district.

At issue is whether Ley lives in Battle Ground, as stated on his candidate filing form, or at his home in Camas. Clark County property records list Philip and Eileen Haggerty as the owners of the Battle Ground address Ley provided on his voter registration. However, Ley is listed as the owner of a Fremont Street home in Camas.
