Letter: Help out at Heritage Farm

As Clark County considers the future of the 78th Street Heritage Farm, it should be noted how valuable the farm is right now (“Clark County Council hears hazy future of 78th Street Heritage Farm,” The Columbian, June 1).

Thanks to dedicated volunteers and generous funders, Heritage Farm donates tons of fresh produce to the Clark County Food Bank. Last year’s harvest yield was 61,972 pounds of carrots, corn, squash, onions, peppers and more.

As a regular volunteer at Heritage Farm, I encourage anyone to participate in the farming experience. It’s a way to connect with nature while offering fresh food to our county’s residents. For information or to sign up, contact farm@clarkcountyfoodbank.org.
